“In the Bhagavad Gita,” Swami Satchidananda says at the opening of this DVD, “there is a promise given to us all by God: Whenever unrighteousness becomes prominent, I will incarnate.” Sri Gurudev goes on to explain that the term for this incarnation is “Avatar” and this is how, according to Yoga philosophy, we understand the birth of Jesus Christ.

This DVD contains Sri Gurudev’s Christmas eve teaching on the message of the Avatars and the true purpose of religion. He encourages us to “Know thy Self”- to realize that we are all “sparks of the Divine” - and to truly  celebrate the birth of Jesus by seeing that the Christ spirit is born in each of us and nourished every day.

Sri Gurudev explains that, “All the incarnations have given the same message: Develop universal love. Be compassionate. Learn to bear insult, bear injury. Forgive and forget.”
