The True Seeker
Format: DVD
Recorded on July 13, 2002
Running time: 50 minutes
In this satsang, Swami Satchidananda is asked about how one can find the truth: Is a teacher needed, must we follow a prescribed path, can we find Self-realization through our own efforts? He also offers guidance about avoiding the pitfalls on the spiritual path.
Sri Gurudev compares the spiritual path to a journey in which it is most helpful to have a reliable map. He suggests that Mother Nature herself is one of the great gurus because by seeking happiness in externals, our efforts are soon thwarted: “A real seeker is one who got sick and tired of running after things. Just like when you stop running after your shadow, it runs after you; when you renounce everything, it all will come after you.”
This DVD captures the spontaneity and energy of a public talk providing a beautiful opportunity to sit with Sri Gurudev and be guided by his vast wisdom.
